Ghost Hollow Ranch (www.ghosthollowranch.com) is located just 4 miles from the Clary Creek Upland Clubhouse, and provides superb lodging in a bunkhouse style setting. After supper, which is included with the room, your host, Rich Wagoner, will enthrall you with old style cowboy tales and songs while the buffalo and horses that reside on the ranch listen in. For those that enjoy riding, horses and tack are available.

For those that desire more individual rooming, check out the River Bank Lodge (www.riverbanklodge.com.) Located 11 miles from Clary Creek Upland in Petersburg, Riverbank Lodge combines the outdoor rustic with modern convenience decorated with hunters’ dreams. For those with non-hunting wives, Riverbank Lodge is ideal. Just down the street, Petersburg’s Square is surrounded by antique shops, coffee houses, cafes, and other wifely haunts. If they get bored, they can catch the trolley and visit New Salem State Park, a historic renovation of the town of New Salem where Abraham Lincoln lived, worked, spun yarns, and wrestled as a young man. If that is not enough, a 20 minute drive takes them to the Lincoln Museum and Library and the Old Illinois State Capital, which is the site of Abraham Lincoln’s Presidential Campaign Headquarters.
